Hi! My name is Andrea Gervais. I have been studying at the University of Regina since the fall of 2015 and am currently in my second year of my Bachelors in Elementary Education (Pre-K to 5).
I was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan and graduated from Michael A. Riffel High School in 2011. After high school I took some time off and worked at Safeway. During this time, I thought a lot about what I wanted to do with my life and career and becoming a teacher was the one constant thing that I was positive I wanted to achieve.
I come from a family of six as the youngest of four children. I am also an aunt to four wonderful nieces (16, 11, 10, 7) and a nephew (5). My family is very close, and family gatherings can often get loud and hectic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
A few things I enjoy are reading, playing the guitar, and spending time with my dog, a six your old Chocolate Lab named Charlie. I have also recently taken up the hobby of crocheting. While I have the technique and skill to make basic items, I am still struggling to make crochet amigurumi animals and am currently planning to make an amigurumi turtle.
I am really looking forward to continuing my education and gaining more knowledge on how to teach children in a positive and effective way.
